Government of Canada-Consultation on Legislated Procurement Targets for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and Innovative Firms

You are invited to participate in a consultation to inform the government’s next steps in proposing legislated procurement targets for small- and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) and innovative firms.

The Government of Canada is seeking input from industry associations, innovation organizations, Canadian companies, Indigenous organizations, and individuals with expertise in business and innovation.

How to Participate

To participate in the consultation:

·       Read the consultation document.

·       Fill in the survey questionnaire (preferred) or alternatively, you may email your comments and feedback at iscinnovationconsultations-consultationseninnovationsic@ised-isde.gc.ca.

Submissions will be accepted from 2024-06-03 to 2024-07-26.

Background

Budget 2024: Fairness for Every Generation announced the Government’s intention to propose legislated procurement targets for small- and medium-sized businesses and innovative firms. The proposal, which is to be outlined in the 2024 Fall Economic Statement, will be informed by industry consultations and international best practices.
