Jill of All Trades @ SAIT
Good afternoon all!
Please see below details regarding the first ever (annual) Jill of All Trades trademarked event. Both PGAA and GAMA associations are proud to be sponsoring this event with GAMA providing 2 mentors and PGAA with a gold member sponsorship. GAMA and PGAA logos to be displayed on the T-shirts that both the volunteers and students will receive. It will be a great opportunity to showcase our dynamic trade to this young crowd and we are extremely proud to be a part of this inaugural event!! Logistics of the event and the particular project to be done with the attending students is coming to fruition. see attached sneak peek photo 🙂

SAIT is always promoting careers in trades and tech to high school students. This November 24, both SAIT and NAIT are participating in their first ever (annual) Jill of All Trades trademarked event.
For November 24 at SAIT, we will be running 3 sessions for over 100 confirmed high school girls from CBE and CCSB.
Buses arrive on campus before 9:30am
Opening remarks 9:30am
Session 1 – 10am – 11am
Session 2 – 11am-12pm
Lunch and candy bar
Session 3 – 1-2pm
Buses leave campus 2:30pm
We will have glazing, pipe trades, electrical, HVAC, Refrigeration, Welding, Millwright, CNC, Autobody, Heavy Duty Mechanic, Auto mechanics and sheet metal options for the girls to choose from.
We will have groups of 16-18 girls and so would like 2-3 industry female mentors to spend the day with each group of girls. They will also be accompanied by a SAIT faculty member and their high school teacher. We think the spontaneous conversations around career paths and sharing personal experience will be as inspiring as the activity that the girls get to complete. We aren’t worried about perfectly matching mentors to the specific trade/tech. It might be nice if they don’t match perfectly as we can provide more diversity in a single day.
Cheers,
